Grilled Salmon with Caravella Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil Marinade (Mediterranean Style)

  • 4 salmon fillets (6-8 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup Caravella Premium Extra Virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Caravella Premium Acacia honey or maple syrup (optional, for a hint of sweetness)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh herbs (for garnish)

  1. Prepare the Marinade:

In a small bowl, whisk together the Caravella Premium Extra Virgin olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and Caravella Premium Acacia honey.

          2. Marinate the Salmon:

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring that each fillet is well-coated.
Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

          3. Preheat the Grill:

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F or 190-200°C).
If using a gas grill, make sure it’s preheated for at least 10-15 minutes.
For a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are ashed over and evenly distributed.

         4. Grill the Salmon:

Remove the salmon from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill.
Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).

         5. Serve:

Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer to a serving platter.
Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon wedges.
Serve immediately, enjoying the salmon with your favorite sides such as grilled vegetables, a fresh salad, or rice.

For extra flavor: Baste the salmon with the leftover marinade during the first few minutes of grilling.
For a crispy skin: Start grilling the salmon skin-side down and avoid flipping it too frequently.

For a smoky flavor: Add wood chips to your charcoal or gas grill.
